GHD rise - snapped
GHD rise. Had it six months - the handle snapped off from the hot part of the brush. I contacted GHD. Their reply - I was using it incorrectly! I was styling my hair, perfectly innocently. Their device is faulty and they blamed me. I see I am not alone. Don’t buy the Rise - it’s not well made for such an expensive item.

Loyal customer
Had my last GHD'S that lasted over 15 years. Finally gave up after very long usage and ordered new ones for my hair type and given a free gift as an extra which was a nice touch.

Own numerous GHD stylers but very unimpressed with GHD rise
As per the title, I own several GHD stylers and anticipated that the Rise would be a worthwhile addition.

The product worked well for a faux blow out on the first occasion I used it (though it isn't fit for purpose on the selling point of Volume - of course "Results may vary" I'm sure they'd say).

However, I've never replicated the results of the 1st occasion I used the item and the following issues concern me:

I'm not convinced regarding even heat distribution. On some occasions sections of my hair feel scorched/parched after I've run the Rise through my hair. On the other occasions, that isn't the case. I do not have this issue with my other GHD devices I have now but had something similar happen with a faulty GHD device I owned previously.

I've noted some anomalies with the power indicator button. I'm assured that what I've described to GHD when switching on the device is consistent with a device they had in the office but that does not reassure me as I'm now also having issues when switching the device off. I've only used the item approximately a dozen times and it is too much of an investment to be presenting with these quality issues.

GHD requested a video of what I was describing. Why should a customer be obliged to fiddle about attempting to capture intermittent faults on electrical items? IMO it is poor service to ask customers to jump through hoops in order to obtain a resolution.

I'm concerned with multiple reviews online indicating that people have had issues with bristles snapping off and GHD blaming that on wear.

I don't know whether the device I have is a lemon or whether it is typical for this particular model but based on my experience, I cannot recommend GHD at this time. Customer Service isn't quite what it once was and based on my experience of the Rise, neither are the products. I expect consistently good performance and reasonable longevity from such high end stylers.

Travel hairdryers - waste of money!!
I’ve had two travel hairdryers, the first worked a few hours before cutting out permanently, the second didn’t work at all with the on/off switch not working. Annoyingly because of Covid and not travelling the item is out of warranty and GHD will be nothing about it. £70 for a hairdryer that’s never been used!! Clearly an issue with the quality since both were faulty.

Unless you’ve got money to wasted I’d avoid the travel hairdryer at all costs!

So disappointed with the Unplugged GHD
So disappointed with the Unplugged GHD. I have short hair and it's not thick and I only use it for a quick smooth down each morning before I leave for work. I didn't know that you couldn't use it plugged in and the charge runs out after 5-10minutes use and runs out of charge after two days when I don't even use it. So for this reason I have to charge it every night just in case. It would be useless travelling with it. I may just have a dud Unplugged GHD. But based on my experience I wouldn't recommend the Unplugged. And it cost me a small fortune.

My GHD broke down after only 2 and a half years and of course falls under warranty but for an item that cost way over £100 this should not be the case, when I called GHD they showed no sympathy and was offered No options at all.
I will not be buying GHD again.

Had my ghd straightening irons for over 6 years, they are most definitely the best of the best, they leave my hair sleek and shiny and perfectly straight, I honestly don't know what I would do without them, time to upgrade them now, waiting on payday to treat myself...

Awful faulty product
Awful faulty product. Had 2 different sets of ghd gold now and both have broken within about 2 uses. Awaiting a 3rd replacement of same product which no doubt will do the same. Was told cannot have an alternative product or refund. Would not recommend

Love ghds
Love ghds, my 1st pair lasted over 15 years. New ones doesn’t last as long lucky to get around 3 years from them, but no other straighteners work on my hair. As my pair broke but they did give me a discount, also a sale was already on so I got a good a good deal. Ordered at 6pm and was delivered they next day by 10.30am even though I was told 2-3 days. Excellent!

Faulty after 18 months - happened three times now!
Purchased first pair of GHD white Platinum Straighteners approximately 6 years ago. After 18 months the red light came on and would switch off within minutes of turning them on. Sent back to GHD who replaced them with no problem. Another 18 moths down the line and the same thing happened so sent back again during COVID and were once again replaced. Received the third pair and now two years later the SAME thing has happened but this time they won't replace them because the 2 year warranty has expired. Expect straighteners that's cost £100+ to last longer than 18 months - 2years when the £30 spare pair are 10+ years old and still work. Never again would I purchase a pair of GHD straighteners as it appears that after 2 years they stop working.

Glide does not work on thin hair
Serverly disappointed. I've used GHD products for years and thought I would treat myself to the hot brush (glide). Wish I had just bought a new pair of straighteners. Don't waste your money, especially if your hair is thin and prone to frizz. Didn't work.

I placed an order on 20th May for straighteners. On 6th June I contacted GHD as I had not received my order. I was informed that the order had gone 'missing' between GHD and the courier and that they would re-send my order by Parcel Force and would receive the item within 2-3 days. On 7th June I received a parcel. On opening the parcel I received an hairdryer instead of straighteners. I contacted GHD straight away who said they would look into this. On 8th June I contacted GHD again to see what was happening with the incorrect item received. They said that they would look in to this and let me know. On 9th June I received 2 emails - 1 with a label to print so that I could return it back to them and that I needed to send them proof of posting before they send me my order of straighteners and the 2nd one stating that they rigorously test their products to an high standard and they are sorry that I was returning my order under warranty!! I contacted them to let them know that I did not have the option to print out the label and I was wanting to return the item because it was sent incorrectly and not because it was faulty. They said they would need to speak to a manager and would get back to me. I received another email to say that they could not send my correct item until the hairdryer was returned and therefore they would arrange Parcel Force to collect the hairdryer on 10th June between 10am-4pm. On 10th June at 4.30pm i still have not had the incorrect item collected. I contacted GHD again and informed them off this. I was informed that they would get back to me within 5-10minutes so that they could look into this. At 7.15pm still no contact from them. During this time they had the nerve to send me an email thanking me for my purchase of the straighteners and they hope that I am enjoying my new purchase!!! Totally frustrated with GHD
